Two of Plymouth’s finest singer-songwriters, Paul Armer and Jack Cookson will be joining each other on the B-Bar stage, bringing a mixture of country, folk and roots influenced songs. Both artists will perform individually but expect to see them come together for a duo performance as the finale.
Paul Armer - With a voice and perspective that seems beyond his 24 years, and a collection of honest, heart felt songs that mirror and connect with an audience, Paul Armer is a Country/Americana singer-songwriter that deserves to be heard. Taking inspiration from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, and Turnpike Troubadours, his sound resides where these influences meet.
Jack Cookson - Stylistically influenced by roots music from both sides of the Atlantic, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jack Cookson combines dry and visceral word play with intricate finger-style guitar arrangements in a futile attempt to sing about his feelings in a unique way. He has shared the stage with the likes of Ralph McTell, Louis Berry and Mahalia, and in early 2016 he was announced as one of the final four nominees for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.
